New fashion trend. Trend #3 Red

Prabal Gurung, 2017

2. Wide skirt. Most likely, you won’t be able to get by with just one model in 2017. It’s very difficult to single out the most popular skirt this year. Choose from an abundance of styles that stylists paid a lot of attention to when announcing fashion trends for 2017. This can be a wide chiffon skirt, classic or asymmetrical cut, with a wrap or a slit.

5. Long dress with print. A feminine dress in patchwork or ethnic style adds warmth and coziness to the collections. The floral print is larger and more noticeable, but with a bold edge. Only tenderness and a bit of pride. Lovers are incredibly happy with this idea; long colorful dresses make up a significant part of their wardrobe.

6. Translucent dress. It’s probably worth highlighting separately. On the catwalks there is an explosion in the popularity of things made of lace and guipure. Subtle transparency in 2017 is associated more with mystery and tenderness, but not with vulgar sexuality. Insanely beautiful, but not at all aggressive.

Zuhair Murad, 2017

6. Shirt. Denim, white, classic, checkered – we take it all in 2017! There are variations to suit any situation! The universal has only strengthened its position; designers presented many interesting new models in the new year! See photo reports from fashion shows on our website!

Aquilano Rimondi, 2017

6. Cardigan. A long sweater without fasteners that will protect you from the cold can be worn under a belt or without it in 2017. Calm shades predominate, but in the new season the color palette has expanded. Our authors have already written in more detail about all the options for the year in a previous publication. And it gained the greatest popularity in the new season.

Pringle of Scotland, 2017

7. Women's jumpsuit. Designers continue to expand the range of women's overalls. In addition to new practical models, there are luxurious business and business options that will successfully replace a festive dress.

1- Ruffles, frills

Perhaps, the brightest trend of spring 2017 – all kinds of frills and ruffles in finishing sleeves, hems of dresses, shoulders of shirts and blouses. This trend was clearly visible in almost all collections, and now you can see a lot of things with frills in all mass market stores.

Ruffles not only add femininity to any look, but can also adjust your figure: for example, a “pear” can bring its proportions to an “hourglass” by wearing a blouse or dress with voluminous ruffles at the shoulder line, thereby visually expanding them.

2 – Comfort

“Comfortable fashion” continues to please us, moving from season to season for more than a year now. With an active life in a large metropolis, full of meetings, traveling on public transport, visiting various events, it is so important to feel freedom, comfort, lightness, but at the same time remain stylish and fashionable. my favorite style of clothing and I think it's the best thing to happen in fashion in a long time. Spring 2017 combination styles with elements of a sports wardrobe are still at the peak of popularity: we wear pencil skirts with bomber jackets, and

5 – Loafers without heels, mules

Loafers without heels, invented all the designers picked it up, and real fashionistas gladly introduced these unusual shoes into their wardrobe.

6 – Corset

Echo current 90s – corset. But not a full-fledged corset, but in the form of a belt, that is, starting under the chest. The most fashionable option for wearing such a corset is on outerwear: over a coat, raincoat, jacket. A corset is a lingerie, sexy style item, and when worn over a shirt it will add audacity and sensuality to familiar looks.

7 – Large mesh

8 – Chokers

Despite the fact that many stylists predicted that chokers would soon go out of fashion, they remain relevant in the upcoming spring-summer season. You probably already know everything about them and are happy to use them in your images, and if not yet, I highly recommend taking a closer look. You can make a choker yourself from a simple satin ribbon. (like mine) or you can choose a ready-made option from the variety presented as in online stores, as well as in any shopping centers. The only “contraindication” to wearing chokers is not a long neck, because... this accessory will shorten it even more.

10 – Linen style

Along with chokers, this season is on the list of trends linen style. I wrote about this trend so I won’t go deeper.

11 – Cut off jeans

A little cropped jeans with jagged hem – a must-have this spring. The trend is certainly not for everyone; I don’t have such a thing in my wardrobe yet and I’m not sure what will appear. (Update: here it is!) Image) However, it very often happens that at first glance some thing seems to not fit into one’s own style at all, but over time, sympathy, or even love, comes. That's how it was with me which I had not worn before at all, considering it the color of stupid Barbies. And now have become my thing and make up a large part of this blog.

12 – Transparency

All kinds organza and tulle dresses, exposing the female body were found on the catwalks of most designers. This trend is incredibly sensual, sexy and bold - not every girl decides to go out in high shorts or bodysuits, clearly visible under translucent fabrics. You could see a safer option on the show Burberry spring-summer 2017, where transparent tunics were worn over men's cut shirts.

13 – Color stripe

Stripes are a fashion trend almost every season, only its variations change. This season, colored stripes are trendy, fitting perfectly into spring-summer looks: sundresses, skirts, shirts, trousers - anything can be complemented with this print.

14 – Bodice tops

A new variation of crop tops that were popular in the last spring-summer season is bodice tops. Wear them under jackets and boyzers, and the most stylish option is over a simple T-shirt or oversized shirt.

It’s hard to imagine a selection of trends for the spring-summer season without Flowers are always associated with femininity, youth and summer, and in the coming season, floral print is especially relevant.

16 – Various earrings

Another interesting trend is different earrings: in one ear you have, for example, a long tassel, and in the other a neat stud. This is exactly the option I have now, when writing this article. Even the simplest look with jeans and a white T-shirt will become more interesting and stylish if you insert a large earring into one ear, which will become a bright, interesting accent.

17 – Embroidery

Embroidered patterns, flowers, animals are found everywhere - from blouses to ankle boots. This trend can liven up even the most boring things!

18 – Logos and inscriptions

The designers decided to show themselves not only with their signature cut and color, but also to express themselves in plain text - brand logos, as well as provocative slogans, were read everywhere.

19 – Total black

Along with the variety of different colors, crazy combinations and stripes, lovers of minimalism will also be able to choose a trend to their liking: total black is again at the peak of popularity. Who doesn't like black? Everyone loves it! Black is always appropriate, this color is a real salvation when you need to look stylish, elegant, and not contrived.

20 – Trouser suits and coats “from a man’s shoulder”

At many shows and in street style reports, trouser suits, mostly checkered, were often seen. Most current option– oversized jacket with voluminous shoulders.

Creating new trends in the fashion world, designers dictate to us certain rules of style and beauty. At the same time, they always try to surprise us unusual solutions in the choice of fabric or cut of clothing. It is worth noting that fashion has the ability to return, often what was relevant 20-30 years ago becomes in demand in modern fashion.

This is exactly what happened in the new fashion year 2020. We recommend viewing our photo selection of the most fashionable trends of this year.

New items from the spring-summer season

Spring and summer are the times when you want to look bright and unusual. But right now, designers, as if by agreement, do not want to create new images. They decided to work on what was already relevant and fashionable, adding new elements to existing styles.

  • The 80s style has remained popular for two seasons in a row. Broad shoulders and narrow hems became a striking feature of the outfits. In other words, nothing new, we already saw all this almost 30 years ago, but the choice of fabrics and colors is strikingly different from the last century. Nowadays, rich and bright shades, as well as natural fabrics, are in fashion.

  • The military style has maintained a neutral position for several years in a row, but this season it will begin to gain momentum, captivating fans of street fashion. Now the military style has acquired pomp and brightness, and many designers offer to combine military-style jackets with more feminine outfits.

  • Boho chic style is a new trend. The idea will appeal to the fair sex, who are distinguished by their subtle, creative nature. Floor-length loose dresses, unusual skirts and additions in the form of lace and ruffles are everything a gentle lady needs.

New items for the fall-winter season

The cold season greets us with a strict and business style of clothing. Pantsuits and pencil skirts will take leading positions on the fashion Olympus. Designers suggest introducing unusual features in the form of accessories to soften the severity and give the image a more flexible character.

Another novelty of the season will be knitted fashion. Floor-length dresses with a voluminous knitted pattern will especially stand out.

Clothes and leather are another new product for autumn. It will be possible to find not only outerwear made from natural material, but also trousers, skirts and even dresses.

Leopard print will add accents and transform even the most modest outfit. Outerwear with animal patterns will gain particular popularity.

Natural fur trim, which will look especially good on long coats, will help you set your priorities. Also, many designers offer to evaluate evening dresses with fur elements.

Dresses and sweaters will stand out with a loose cut, which will especially please overweight ladies who want to hide the flaws of their figure.

Wedding fashion

For brides, an equally important part when preparing for the wedding is choosing the perfect wedding dress, meeting all the parameters of modern fashion.

The latest wedding fashion collections delight with a wide variety of chic and unusual outfits, among which dresses with 3D flowers especially stand out. This unusual element began to gain popularity last year, but in the coming season it will firmly gain a foothold on the fashion Olympus for at least a year.

Wedding dresses with V-shaped deep necklines will remind many girls of elegance. Many designers have decided to dilute classic silhouettes with new trends, so 2020 will surprise you with a large selection of non-standard wedding dress models.

Perhaps the most unexpected solution will be wedding suits for women, the vast majority of which will be made in a trouser version.

Many designers suggest that brides add modesty to their look and choose dresses with long sleeves. Those models that are made of lace will look absolutely special.

Jewelry fashion

New jewelry fashion in 2020 offers a large selection of products made from precious metals and natural stones.

In the new year, many jewelry houses offer to focus on brooches, the size of which is unlimited, and the design creates a great basis for flights of fancy. In principle, unlimited size and style is also relevant for other jewelry.

Accessories

The final point of every look is the right accessories. Women's fashion is rarely complete without interesting details that help to look at even the most ordinary choice of clothing in a new way.

When choosing bags, you should pay attention to bright and unusual shades. The best option would be models made of genuine leather. Stylists recommend choosing bags without unnecessary decorative details, which give a simple and cheap appearance.

Scarves and shawls will look more laconic in unusual color, and winter options will acquire a large knit and voluminous texture.

The main advantage of this fashion season will be the wide variety of styles and looks. The new season encourages fashionistas to experiment with their appearance and invites them to use their imagination, creating a new and unique look.

Forecasting is always a thankless process, but beauties want to know now what will be trending in the new year. In our review, we will tell you what fashion will be like in 2017: fashion trends in 2017 will help you decide when creating an original look.

Fashion 2017 prints and colors

Unlike last year, there are no toxic, artificial colors in the new season. Modern color solutions do not hurt the eyes, so even the most capricious fashionista will like them. What design houses offer us:

  • fiery shades (red, scarlet);
  • Bordeaux;
  • beet;
  • coral;
  • orange;
  • yellow;
  • mustard;
  • all variations of blue;
  • green palette;
  • chocolate.

Black and white are always in trend, so they are used both in combination with other colors and alone. Every fashion designer thinks through interesting options, from which it is impossible to take your eyes off. By the way, white is not always pure form taken - there are a lot of shades that create a fairly warm, relaxed tone.

The prints in the new season are more restrained, but the emphasis is on ethnic style. Oriental motifs are now at the very top of the trend, so national patterns and designs on your clothes will look fashionable and fresh. Russian painted traditions are conquering Europe and are found in almost all designer collections.

Avangard has not lost its position for several seasons, but in 2017 it is not just a mixture geometric shapes. Some ornaments repeat the works of famous avant-garde artists and represent unusual combination fashion and art.

Fashion materials

The times when beauties hid their bodies under rough skins or canvas robes are gone. Modern fashionistas are demanding of materials and will not tolerate low quality. Every year, design houses have to develop their own exclusive fabrics so that their collections acquire unique chic and style.

So, the new models delight with the naturalness of the materials. Synthetic items are fading into the background, giving cotton and silk room to maneuver. Almost all women's clothing Now it is sewn from natural fabrics. They look chic and expensive.

Design houses love leather, so this is not the first season they have been delighting with original collections made from such plastic materials. By the way, various types are used both in a single copy and as bright “mosaic” pieces. Suede and nubuck look very expensive and allow you to add an aristocratic gloss to things.

Retro is also not inferior, but in the new season models from the 70s are more common. Flared trousers, shirts with sharp turn-down collars are a well-forgotten old thing. By the way, the bells on the pants can be either from the hip or from the knee.

Youth sports style implies maximum convenience and comfort. That's why you won't find corsets or coarse fabrics here. Some models are very similar to classic ones, but the extraordinary knitted material makes them bright and unusual.

In the new season, the military style has changed dramatically. Forget about khaki for fabrics: it has been replaced by warmer and more original colors.

For example, mustard-colored jackets look great. Modern military style is more feminine and less aggressive. Most often, it is represented by loose coats or jackets with two rows of buttons, like on a hussar uniform.

Oversized

I would like to talk about this style separately. Over the past few seasons, oversize has become a favorite technique among all fashion designers. There simply isn’t a single collection where you won’t be surprised by a voluminous jacket or wide trousers. Why do modern fashionistas love him so much? Firstly, it is very comfortable and does not restrict movement. Secondly, under such clothes you can easily hide extra pounds without compromising the overall image.

It looks especially chic on tall young ladies. Petite beauties should choose things more carefully - after all, oversized clothes hide a few precious centimeters. However, all fashionistas are obliged to supplement their wardrobe with at least one model.

Wide, oversized sweaters have been the most popular for several seasons now. They look great under either a skirt or pants, especially skinnies or leggings. Loose dresses made of knitwear or silk are no less popular.

Next, fashionistas prefer oversized outerwear. We have already presented collections of chic down jackets, jackets or loose-fitting coats. The main detail is the low shoulder line, which makes the figure more fragile and defenseless.

Nightgowns

One of the popular trends of the 2017 season was original dresses, reminiscent of nightgowns in cut. A few years ago, fashion designers shocked the public with pajamas for going out, but now they have reached the holy of holies - nighties.

These can be revealing models made of brocade and silk, which will create an excellent evening look. Don't forget about fashionable accessories, as well as a clutch and high heels. This way you won't look like a housewife who forgot to put on a dress.

Light ruffle models will look chic with rough jewelry and shoes with tractor soles. Feel free to wear a jacket or jacket on top. To avoid looking tasteless, do not complement the look with transparent elements - you should create contrast, and not play up the nightdress.

Fashionable shoes

In the new season, forget about pointed noses - now the trend is a rounded, almost square nose. All fashion designers suddenly began to care about the comfort of shoes, so they forgot all the aggressive elements. The heel is now more stable, but there are also thin stiletto heels.

Anyone who follows the fashion industry knows how fleeting and short-lived fashion trends are. It would seem that only yesterday they came into full force - and spring-summer shows are already dictating new rules! Always and in everything to meet the requirements of fashion is not an easy task, but it is doable. You just need to track any, even minor, changes in trends from season to season. Moreover, respected couturiers lift the veil of secrecy before us. Today you can predict the most current ideas that will conquer the catwalks in the spring-summer 2017 season.

Delicate black lace is a feature of many spring-summer collections

Main trends of the spring-summer 2017 season

The summer year will present us with many surprises. Although, in general, designers adhere to the trends of past years, they have made them as “convex” and even controversial as possible - tenderness and lace, contrasting color combinations and a huge variety of shapes rule the roost, which fully corresponds to the dynamics and variability of modern life.

At the same time, the year is more than ever characterized by integrity and harmony, which is especially emphasized by natural colors and soft fabrics that envelop the figure. Among the main trends are:

  • a reference to the Victorian era with its feminine looks, lace, ruffles and numerous frills;
  • popularization of ethnic patterns of various cultures and nationalities. Typically, this trend is embodied in a huge number of floral prints, covering the entire fabric with flowers and leaves;
  • a variety of electric shades, geometric patterns, inscriptions, catchy logos, spectacular transitions and mixing color solutions and kaleidoscope-type prints.

The thigh-high slit is another favorite feature of most designers.

The main stylistic trend in the spring and summer of 2017 is considered to be the cruise style of clothing (resort style), which includes:

  • accents on the back (which are most often decorated with various cutouts, like at Maison Margiela) or graceful female legs (a dress with a thigh-high slit can be found in almost any summer collection);
  • the craziest combinations of stripes - a mix of multidirectional lines and prints is welcome in clothes;
  • graphic prints with bright, clearly defined blocks, like Michael Kors;
  • a jumper, bomber jacket or sweatshirt in pastel shades is a real must-have of the new fashion year, as Adam Lippes tells us;
  • a lot of creative loose folds arranged in a completely unexpected way, which has already been demonstrated by Alexander Wang and Joseph Altuzarra;
  • a lot of voluminous flounces even in heavy clothes made of leather or drape fabrics, which Toni Maticevski and DKNY successfully used;
  • delicate shades pink color combined with brown, mustard and rich blue, as demonstrated in their shows by Narciso Rodriguez and Jason Wu;
  • an abundance of flowers decorating outerwear, dresses, trousers and even shoes.

Let's take a closer look at the most iconic trends in resort collections of 2017!

Trend #1: Flower Children

Floral print by Alice + Olivia, Moschino, Phillip Lim, Warm, Alexis Mabille

Floral print helped designers decorate the already blooming spring-summer period. Among the peak trends of 2017, one can note both the floral total look and individual details in the form of large pink buds, watercolor flowers and appliqués reminiscent of children's drawings.

Floral romance captured all fashion segments - airy dresses, flowing skirts, formal suits, handbags and shoes, creating the effect of a truly spring mood. The magical flower garden is dominated by both delicate shades of pink and lilac, as well as rich red, yellow, blue and green tones, which was successfully demonstrated at shows from Oscar de la Renta, Alice + Olivia, Dolce&Gabbana, Moschino, Etro and Marc Jacobs.

Trend #2: Belts

Belts from Elie Saab, Oscar de la Renta, Lorenzo Serafini, Sonia Rykiel, Missoni

A stylish design solution that completes any look are belts and sashes. They are the ones who pay attention to a woman’s thin waist. In 2017, belts became the most sought-after wardrobe item. Wide and deliberately pretentious, they practically replaced narrow straps with invisible buckles from the catwalk, in some cases taking the form of a corset belt.

Among the most popular materials are patent leather and natural suede. Some designers have gone further than others, suggesting wearing several contrasting belts at once, moving them from the waistline to the neck, or even fastening them with a buckle back. By the way, the buckle itself has ceased to be a significant element, acquiring an increasingly minimalistic look, as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Sonia Rykiel, Alexander McQueen and Missoni say.

Trend #3: Bombers

Bomber jackets from Cynthia Rowley, Alice + Olivia, Fendi, Coach, Yigal Azrouel

Cropped bomber jackets, embroidered with appliqués and decorated with all kinds of prints, have become an absolute must-have of 2017. Almost no collection could do without them. Bomber jackets dominated the fashion shows not only of luxury houses such as Elie Saab, Anna Sui, Louis Vuitton, Emporio Armani, Fendi, Coach and Gucci, but also of the democratic brand Zara.

This jacket is so versatile that it can be paired with anything - from airy floor-length dresses to trousers and jeans. At the same time, bombers are an example of a personalized wardrobe item, because such a bright jacket, decorated with fancy embroidery, prints, logos and badges, is quite capable of demonstrating to the world the character of its owner. The trend is in delicate satin models, knitted variations presented in minimalist looks, and even leather bomber jackets in current style military

Trend #4: Military

Military fantasies from Chanel, Antonio Marras, Valentino, Erdem, Marc Jacobs

It seems that clothing in military style has firmly occupied the fashion Olympus. Military has become popular casual style back in the late 60s, when designers got tired of decorative bows and turned to strict military uniforms for inspiration. However, in 2017, this trend received a new interpretation, joining the ranks of fashion trends in a completely new quality.

Of course, the main features of the military style remained unchanged - jackets and coats similar to overcoats, large number pockets and camouflage colors are here to stay. However, the spring-summer collections added a little brightness to this traditionally masculine type of clothing. Not only marsh shades are allowed, but also light khaki, camel and numerous multi-colored stripes, flowers and fringe.

Military jackets look especially attractive in combination with miniskirts and shorts, further emphasizing the fragile female figure. The inspiration drawn from the soldier's uniform is best expressed by the collections of Antonio Marras, Dior, Valentino, Dolce&Gabbana, Rachel Zoe and Chanel.

Trend #5: Flares

Flared trousers from Versace, Rachel Zoe, Moschino, Marco de Vincenzo

2017 was the year of sudden “comebacks”. It is rich in long-forgotten trends that have unexpectedly returned to fashion catwalks. These include the fashion for flared trousers, which has flared up with renewed vigor. Of course, it is impossible to label bell-bottoms revived by designers as “old school.” You can no longer find the excessive expansion typical of the 70s and overly catchy decor in the form of fringe or stripes.

Fashionable trousers for 2017 have a shortened length and a slight extension from the knee. Mid-season collections from Versace, Cinq a Sept, Calvin Klein, Marco de Vincenzo, Sonia Rykiel, Alexander McQueen and Rosetta Getty presented fashionistas with flared trousers of a minimalist design, made primarily in monochrome colors. Exceptions are floral suits in a catchy white and burgundy combination from Cinq a Sept.

Trend #6: Bell Sleeves

Flared sleeves from Fendi, Temperley London, Roberto Cavalli, Rachel Zoe, Holly Fulton

Bell sleeves were an iconic trend in the 70s, when ethnic styles dominated the runways. Over the past decades, we have done without this pretentious but noticeable decorative element - designers admitted that the trend has become obsolete. And in 2017, flared sleeves became a feature of many fashion collections, loudly experiencing another birth.

Designers from fashion houses Alexander Wang, Fendi, Joseph Altuzarra, Roberto Cavalli and Holly Fulton have tried all the options for this sleeve - from neat cut-off sleeves with light flounces to exaggeratedly wide shapes. This solution looks especially catchy in elegant blouses and dresses, made of airy textures and decorated with stylized ethnic embroidery.

Trend #7: Dusty Rose Color

Dusty rose color from Apiece Apart, Delpozo, Emporio Armani, Bally, Roksanda

The shade of dusty rose has become one of the trendy colors in resort collections. This delicate, infinitely feminine and elegant color, like no other, harmonizes with the lightness of spring days. Delpozo, Bally and Roksanda decided to make the most of the possibilities of this girlish tone, making almost any clothes from it - the catwalks are filled with pink dresses, suits, light short coats and jumpers.

Trend #8: Logomania

Clothing with logos from Gucci, No. 21, Moschino, Chanel, DKNY

The logomania trend has burst into the high fashion segment, which for several years has been not just a sign of a lack of style, but even bad taste. Kenzo was the first to take the path of reviving this trend, placing the logo of the fashion house on a collection of sweatshirts. Gradually, younger brands joined in and decided to use street aesthetics in their collections, sincerely loved by street style fans.

A clear interest in the trends of the late 90s led to logomania in new shows from Missoni, Christian Dior and DKNY, which decided to rely on archival items. The dominant trend of 2017 was the use of your own logo, prominently placed in the most visible place of a dress, T-shirt or jumper, like Gucci, Chanel, Moschino, No.21 or DKNY.

Trend #9: Red + white + blue

Stylish tricolor from Gabriela Hearst, Sass+Bide, Dsquared, A. Marras, Osman

The colors of the French tricolor are considered one of the most win-win summer combinations and refer us to the timeless nautical style. In the spring-summer 2017 season, the harmony of red, white and blue again found itself on the crest of a fashionable wave. Designers use this color block in literally everything - from bags and shoes to dresses, sweaters and suits.

Such things are completely self-sufficient, so they did not require any additional frills in the form of jewelry or flashy accessories, as Gabriela Hearst, Donna Karan, Sass + Bide, Valentino, Sonia Rykiel, A.F. say. Vandevorst, Antonio Marras and Osman. The main rule is well-chosen colors. Thus, cold shades of red prefer proximity to cobalt and blue, while warm shades require proximity to blue-violet.

Trend #10: Striped Print

Striped prints from Christian Siriano, Milly, Phillip Lim, Edun, Moschino

It seems that modern fashion has used up all the original prints, forcing designers to turn to classic stripes. There are a great variety of such experiments - the stripes differ in color, width and orientation on the canvas. The trend is both longitudinal and transverse lines, monochrome and all shades of a wide range of colors.

One of the most iconic trends of 2017 was diagonally located stripes and a mix of multidirectional lines, as well as classic even stripes located so as to visually elongate the figure. This trend is widely represented in shows from Christian Siriano, MSGM, Milly, Alberta Ferretti, Edun and Adam Lippes.

Trend No. 11: Tiered dresses and sundresses

Dresses in the collections of Giamba, Marchesa, Kate Spade, Sachin+Babi, Emanuel Ungaro

In parallel with masculine military, designers presented a completely opposite trend. Feminine ruffles, numerous frills and exquisite lace have become the undisputed leader in the segment of dresses and skirts. Outfits from Giamba, Prabal Gurung, Gucci, Kate Spade New York, Burberry, Sachin&Babi, Moschino and Zac Posen are more reminiscent of multi-tiered cakes rather than traditional items of clothing, taking us back to the Victorian era, but at the same time maximizing the modern interpretation of this trend.
