Analysis of the Unified State Examination in the Russian language in grades 11 “A” and 11 “B” (2014)

Features of control and certification of graduates during the Unified State Examination (USE) in the Russian language are determined by the specifics of the subject, the final goals of training and the purpose of the examination work.

Modern stage The development of methods of teaching the Russian language is characterized by new approaches to defining learning goals. The goals of training, its content (knowledge, abilities and skills) are determined through the concepts of linguistic, linguistic and communicative competencies.

The examination paper is designed in such a way that it allows you to check the extent to which high school graduates have developed each of the three competencies - language, linguistic and communicative.

In 2014, 15 graduates of class 11 “A” and 19 graduates of class 11 “B” took the Unified State Examination in Russian – a total of 34 students. All participants successfully completed the examination tests. The examination work in the Russian language for school graduates of the 11th grade has its purpose - to evaluate the preparation of secondary school graduates in the Russian language for the purpose of their final certification and the selection of applicants for admission to colleges and universities.

Completing the examination required the following skills from graduates:

Conduct various types analysis of linguistic units. Analyze, classify linguistic facts in order to provide various types of speech activity.

Exercise speech self-control. Evaluate written statements from the point of view of linguistic design and the effectiveness of achieving the set communicative tasks.

Distinguish between variants of norms. Analyze linguistic units from the point of view of correctness, accuracy and appropriateness of their use.

Conduct linguistic analysis of educational, scientific, business, journalistic, colloquial and artistic texts. Use basic techniques for information processing of text.

Extract necessary information from various sources, create your own speech statements in accordance with the assigned tasks.

Master the basic techniques of information processing of text.

The dual function of the Unified State Examination - to certify graduates of secondary schools and select among them the most prepared students to continue their studies at a university - determines the structure and content of the examination work. In it, in addition to basic level tasks, there are advanced and high level complexities with great differentiating power. It is these tasks that make it possible to identify the most prepared students from among the students being examined.

Three types of tasks were used in the work: tasks with a choice of answers, tasks with a short answer, tasks with a detailed answer.

Most multiple-choice tasks check linguistic competence of examinees: the ability to identify compliance (or non-compliance) of any speech unit with a language norm. Several multiple choice questions are checked linguisticscultural competence - the ability to recognize linguistic units and classify them - and communicative competence - the ability to understand a statement, coherently, and logically construct a text. In general, multiple-choice tasks test Russian language skills at a basic level.

Main general results of the Russian language exam

In 2014, the average test score in the Russian language: in 11A - 61 points, in 11B - 54 points. The average test score for the school is 57 points (last school year 63.2), which lower than this year’s indicators for the Pervomaisky district, the city, the Rostov region and Russia as a whole, as well as in comparison with previous years.

The results of graduates of the Unified State Examination school in the Russian language can be divided into several groups:

Class

The quality of knowledge in 11A is higher than in 11B. The average result is 50%, which, even taking into account the reduced passing score, is not a high achievement.

Results of completing tasks of a basic level of complexity (Part A)

The work consists of 39 tasks: tasks of a basic level of complexity - 24, advanced - 7, high - 8.Tasks with a choice of answers (type A) - 30, with a short answer (type B) - 8, with a detailed answer (type C) - 1.

For the certification of school graduates, what is important, first of all, is the results of completing the tasks of the first part (A), which tests the development of skills that ensure proficiency in oral and written language at a basic level. The table shows the results of completing all tasks in the first part of the examination:

The percentage of assignments completed by topic can be presented as follows.

Difficulty level of the task: B - basic, P - advanced, V - high.

Analyzing the table data, we can conclude that graduates have well mastered the following topics:

1. Morphological norms (88%).

2. Syntactic norms (85%).

3. Text. Semantic and compositional integrity of the text. Sequence of sentences in the text (88%).

4. Means of connecting sentences in the text (85%).

5. Punctuation marks in sentences with dissociated members (82%).

6. Information processing of written texts various styles and genres (85%).

7. Text as a speech work. Semantic and compositional integrity of the text (94%).

It is noteworthy that the students completed the tasks higher level difficulty is better than with basic level tasks (53% - 94%).

Graduates showed low results when performing the following tasks:

1. Offer. Types of sentences according to the number of grammatical bases. Types of complex sentences by means of connecting parts. Complex sentences with different types communications (44%).

2.Parts of speech (38).

3. Punctuation marks in a simple complicated sentence with homogeneous members (44%).

Of the 15 graduates of 11A and 19 graduates of 11B classes, no one coped with the tasks of part A 100%, which indicates the fragility of the students’ knowledge. The maximum number of correct answers in part A (29) was given by M. Niskubina (grade 11A). Minimum quantity(7 points) from Varosyan S. (grade 11B). Only three tasks (A4, A7, A28) were completed by students 100%. The students showed the lowest result (38%) in part A11 (parts of speech). This is a serious gap in the knowledge of graduates, because... Lack of understanding of the parts of speech entails errors in the spelling of words, punctuation and grammatical errors (errors in the practical application of knowledge).

Results of completing tasks of an increased level of complexity

(part B)

Quests open type short answer questions are aimed primarily at testing the linguistic competence of the examinees. In tasks of this type, more complex language material is offered for analysis than in tasks with a choice of answers, and it is presented not in the form of isolated linguistic examples (words, phrases, sentences), but based on text material.

In general, text tasks represent a multidimensional analysis of the text (semantic, compositional, typological, stylistic, linguistic) and are tasks of an increased level of complexity.

The second part of the work is focused both on the final certification of school graduates and the selection of applicants to continue their studies at the university. Traditionally, these tasks cause the greatest difficulties for graduates.

The level of development of a particular competency can be determined by the results of completing groups of tasks that test the relevant skills. It can be seen that the overall result of completing tasks of an increased level of complexity is low. The data is presented in the table below.

Content elements and activities tested

B8 0 b

Graduates showed extremely low results when completing the following tasks:

B2. Parts of speech (29%);

Q4. Offer. The grammatical (predicative) basis of a sentence. Types of proposals based on the presence of main members: two-part and one-part (38%);

B6. Complex sentence (32%).

All of these topics are closely related to each other. Gaps in morphology cause gaps in syntax, and then in punctuation.

Task B8 (analysis means of expressiveness of the text) involves scoring from 0 to 4 points. The score depends on the number of correct answers. Each correct answer is worth 1 point.

27 students (55%) earned 4 points.

3 points – 7 students (14%).

2 points –5 student (10%).

1 point – 5 students (10%).

0 points – 5 students (10%).

The fact that 10% of graduates failed to complete task B8 indicates their lack of knowledge, skills and abilities to identify artistic means of expression. This means that in their practice of verbal communication they also do not fully use the resources of the Russian language. Consequently, their speech is poor and monotonous. This suggests that graduates have difficulty expressing their thoughts, which will affect their future studies.

Results of completing tasks of a high level of complexity

(part C)

An open-type task with a detailed answer is an essay based on the proposed text. The task checks the level of individual communication skills of the examinees:

Analysis of the fulfillment of the content of the essay (criteria 1 – 4) indicates that the majority of students adequately perceive the text they read, are able to identify and formulate its problem, and identify the author’s position.

Most examinees do not have any difficulty commenting on the problem of the source text: 5 students were able to comment on 3 maximum points, 6 received 2 points, 1 student - 1 point out of 3 possible, 0 points - 0.

The students had some difficulty arguing their own opinion: 8 students were able to get a maximum of 3 points, 3 students - 2 points each, 1 student - 1 point, gave one argument.

When writing an essay, students demonstrated a fairly high level of spelling literacy: 3 points - 8 students, 2 points - 3 students, that is, 11 students received 2-3 points according to this criterion - 91.67%. The same percentage was obtained according to criterion K 8 for punctuation skills: those who made more than five mistakes - 0; 3 points were received by 4 students, 2 points by 7 students, 1 point by 1 student. They performed very well on the K9 criterion for grammatical errors: 6 students received the maximum 2 points and another 6 students received 1 point. There are 0 points for factual error for 1 student and for accuracy and expressiveness of speech.

You should pay attention to K10 speech skills: 5 students received the maximum 2 points, another 5 received 1 point and 0 points - 2 students.

The average score for completing the essay is 19.58 points out of a maximum possible 24 points. Of the 12 students, 2 received the highest score in the essay (maximum 24 points Adeliya Fazlieva, 23 points Tatyana Ivanova); 22 points – 2 students, 21 points – 1 student, 20 points – 1 student, 18 points – 2 students; 17 points – 3 academic points, 16 points. –1 school

It can be assumed that some miscalculations in teaching the Russian language are associated with ignoring the key role of systematic work on development and improvementall types of speech activityin their interrelation throughout all years of teaching the Russian language. The activity approach should become the leading one in the lesson. At the same time, in the process of teaching the Russian language, it is necessary to purposefully develop the dialogical and monological speech of students (oral and written); develop the ability to reason on the proposed topic, bringing various ways reasoning one’s own thoughts, the ability to draw conclusions; learn to conduct any dialogue ethically correctly. With this approach, the focus is on the interests and creative potential of the student, his personal and reading experience, which meets the requirements of implementationpersonally oriented approach in teaching the Russian language.

You should pay attention to common topics when preparing for exams, speech errors, expressive means of language, information processing of text, and types of text.
