AUMA SG electric actuators for ball valves. Technical characteristics

AUMA equipment is used in a wide variety of fields and is characterized by long term services. Part-turn actuators SG are manufactured in various designs and sizes.

P AUMA products are manufactured according to a modular principle, which makes it possible to combine SG part-turn actuators with AM and AC control units.

SG part-turn actuators are manufactured as standard with degree of protection IP 67 in accordance with EN 60 529. Class IP 67 provides protection against immersion in water up to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. The standard rotation angle is continuously adjustable from 80° to 110°. In addition, a range from 30° to 320° is possible.Torque from 100 Nm to 1200 Nm.

Designed to operate in “Open-Close” mode. They complement, in case it is necessary to reduce the torque.

The high-quality coating is suitable for outdoor installation of actuators in mildly corrosive, low-pollution environments and provides protection against immersion to a maximum depth of 1 m for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Electric actuators AUMA SG. Description of the design.

Frame. The weight of the drive directly depends on the metal from which the housing is cast. In this case it is a high-quality aluminum alloy.

Electric motor. The drives can be equipped with single-phase or three-phase electric motors AC, which are specially designed for the specific requirements for valve automation.

Electrical connection.Connection to the electric motor and connection of control cables is carried out via an AUMA plug connector (50 pins).

Connection to fittings. The valve flanges are made in accordance with EN ISO 5211. The actuator can be mounted on the valve in 90° increments.

Sleeve. A separate bushing facilitates installation of the actuator on the valve. The treated bushing is attached to the valve stem and is locked against axial movement. After this, the actuator is attached to the valve flange.

Gearbox. Of great importance for ensuring small dimensions of part-turn drives is the elliptic-centric transmission, thanks to which a gear ratio of 80:1 is achieved per stage.

Mechanical limiters.During manual operation, mechanical stops determine the angle of rotation.

Handwheel. During setup or in an emergency, the part-turn actuator can be controlled using a handwheel. The handwheel operates as a manual transmission mechanism. No special switch to manual control is required.

Control unit. The control unit includes limit switches for limit position shutdown. They are located in such a way that they cut off the power supply to the drive equipped with single-phase electric motor AC. When the limit switch is activated, power to the motor is immediately cut off.

Position indicator. The mechanical position indicator is connected directly to the output shaft and therefore to the valve shaft.

Built-in controls.Like all AUMA actuators, the part-turn actuators SG 03.3 and SG 04.3 can be supplied with AUMA control units, which can be mounted directly on the actuator or separately from the actuator on a wall mounting. With a control unit, the drive is immediately ready for operation immediately after installation.

* Torque range and 90° rotation time are based on min – max values, the parameters depend on the installed electric motor, its power and rotation speed.

AUMA part-turn actuators are used if automatic electrical rotation is required at an angle of less than 360, for example in the case of dampers or ball valves.

A handwheel is provided for manual control. Switching off in the end positions is carried out by a limit or torque switch. A control unit is required to control and process the drive signal.

During setup and commissioning, as well as in the event of motor failure and power loss, the drive can be operated manually. Manual control is activated using shift mechanics, and is turned off automatically when the motor is turned on. With electromechanical control, the flywheel does not move.
