Simple tests for attentiveness. Tests for attention. Speeding up mental arithmetic, NOT mental arithmetic

From this article you will learn:

Attention is a very important indicator, which is one of the conditions for successful study at school. If you have it, you can take away a good amount of knowledge from the lesson and just repeat the learned material at home. But if it’s not there, it’s difficult: it’s hard to remember the teacher’s explanation, and the textbooks write in too clever, completely incomprehensible words. We offer students to take a course that will allow them to understand how developed this mental ability is. If you complete the tasks, there is nothing to worry about. If more than half of the pictures caused difficulties, you may have to practice this indicator.

Test No. 1. Find the hearts

This one asks students to find 7 hearts in the most ordinary picture of nature. To be able to see a certain shape among the outlines is an important observation skill.

Attentiveness test “Find the hearts”

Answer.

The organs of perception cover only 7-9 stimuli at a time. This is why long sentences are perceived so poorly by ear. 50% of people do not understand their meaning if they contain more than 13 words. Children 7 years old cannot comprehend sentences of more than 8 words.

Test No. 2. Coffee treasure

This one suggests finding 3 children's faces and 3 ladybugs among this coffee treasure. This is much more difficult than the previous task. There were large objects, and here there were small details that quickly tired the eyes.

Attentiveness test "Camouflage"

Similar attentiveness tests for children can be carried out in schools. They are organized by teachers and psychologists. They help to identify the degree of observation, which is very important in the educational process. Notice the smallest details, to be able to find differences that at first glance do not exist - all these skills and abilities need to be developed at school age so that they are useful in the future. By the way, dear students, you can test not only your friends, but also your parents. It is quite possible that you will be better than them in this matter.

Why do we all love taking the attentiveness test so much? Maybe because he's interesting, them large number on the Internet, suitable for company, makes you think. Passing the attentiveness test has game uniform, and by doing them, you don’t get tired, but you only become better in results, moving from one test to the next.

The online attentiveness test itself with answers looks like a questionnaire with pictures with suggested answer options. It is necessary to choose the correct ones and logically argue why this is so. Or find differences, hidden silhouettes, letters, symbols, numbers, or perhaps choose an extra figure. Also, tasks may come across with numbers, symbols and various marks (punctuation, etc.).

An attentiveness test is the best exercise for the brain, equally useful at any age. They are held by different age groups. The only thing you need to remember is the maximum time during which you can concentrate on something. Children keep their attention on a task for no more than 20 minutes; for adults this time is longer. At first the brain develops and works, but after that it gets tired and attentiveness decreases. So the main thing in the attentiveness test is not to get overtired, and also:

  • don't get distracted;
  • don’t try to answer at random, you need to think;
  • be consistent in your answers;
  • do not spy on others, but develop your attentiveness and logic.
Don’t forget that the test not only develops a specific ability, but trains the brain in general.

Tests, especially intellectual tests, are important for employers, as well as for applicants, because it is interesting and useful to find out your IQ level, assess your abilities in mathematics, logic, and assimilation of information. This psychological tests understandable only to professional psychoanalysts, but with Eysenck tests or other similar ones it’s easier - I wrote it, saw the assessment, understood approximately my level and what needs to be improved.

For employers, attentiveness tests when applying for a job help them check not something specific, but find out how well the candidate assimilates new data and quickly finds associations. This does not apply to professional skills, they are tested at other stages, but if the applicant is not able to understand logical connections or instantly read short texts, he is automatically eliminated and simply does not get to the test of professional abilities.

What are the attention tests?

Large domestic companies, branches of top international corporations, when hiring, use, for the most part, tests from the companies SHL, Kenexa, Talent Q. These tests consist of verbal, numerical, abstract-logical parts, and logical and verbal tests can be considered as attentiveness tests tasks.

If we talk about companies that use such testing, there are many of them, and more and more every month. All branches of foreign corporations use SHL or Talent Q tests, where one part is numerical tasks, the second is verbal or logical problems. We can say that every candidate for open positions in these companies passes an attentiveness test, since he will definitely face verbal or logical tests. Leading companies in Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan have also been using testing for quite a long time; more and more mid-level companies are including tests in the selection process.

Banks, energy companies, construction firms, transportation firms, marketing firms, and automakers are joining the ranks of those using aptitude tests in hiring, and job seekers need to be prepared.

Structure of attentiveness tests

Although you must use logic when solving verbal and logical tests, they differ radically in appearance and in the information they contain. Verbal tasks are a short text with text statements, logical examples consist of a number of pictures, and the answer is another picture from the ones below. The verbal task is text, the logical task is graphic image.

Includes text on a specific topic, in which information relates only to that topic. Next come statements on a given topic, and the test taker must mark each one as “true,” “false,” or “uninformative.” The texts are quite complex, there may be scientific, medical, psychological topics, and in a minute the applicant must grasp the meaning of the information, and then also understand the connection between statements and certain places in the text in order to indicate whether they are true or uninformative.

Logical examples consist of several pictures showing geometric shapes, changing according to certain laws, and below there is a series of figures, one of which should continue the sequence. The tasks are also quite complex, especially when the pictures contain several figures, “built-in” one into one, and they are transformed in their own way. Back in the 30s of the 20th century, outstanding scientists Penrose and Raven developed progressive matrices, very similar to modern logical tests, and they assessed three processes of brain activity - attentiveness, perception, thinking.

You don’t even have to plan to write off attentiveness tests when applying for a job or bypass them in some other way; these examples are almost never repeated, because there are thousands of them in the database, and, for example, the company Talent Q has made a dynamic system that changes the level of complexity of tasks right during testing. Anyone who has seen abstract logical problems also understands the pointlessness of memorizing something when each new example is a series of pictures unlike the previous ones, and one must look for the relationship between them while there is time.

It is important that recent years testing is carried out via the Internet, so you can also train remotely, and this opportunity is provided by some employers (Big 4 companies, other international corporations) or some developers of solution books. Trial tests from employers are usually much simpler than the “original” ones, but you can understand the structure and method of presenting the material, but in order to solve complex problems, it is better to purchase a collection that contains answers to the problems and explanations.

You should especially work on attentiveness, for example, logic tests with pictures cause difficulties at the last stage, when the person’s brain gets tired and is not able to distinguish sequences, although the first examples of the test were given quite simply. Similar difficulties can also arise with verbal tasks, because you have to read an unfamiliar text, and then try to find in it specific information that confirms or refutes the judgments of the compilers.

Every applicant can achieve the best results; for this you just need to train more, use all available examples of verbal and logical tests, and not count on the help of friends.

Tests

Do you pay attention to details? Or are you a completely unobservant person?

A simple test can tell you how attentive a person you are.

Check your attentiveness. Take a look at both pictures.

Attentiveness test

1. Find the same object in two pictures:

Only one object is repeated in both pictures. Can you find and determine which element is repeated in two images?

If you can do it within one minute, consider yourself very observant. So, did you manage to find a duplicate image?

Here are a few more tasks for attentiveness in pictures. These kinds of problems, although at first glance seem simple, they very clearly determine the level of your attentiveness.

Attention tests in pictures

2. Find 2 letters N:

Can you spot a different element in these pictures?

3. Find a machine that is different from others:

4. Find a pair that is different from others:

5. Find a house that is different from others in some way:

6. Find a motorcycle that is different from others:

Now let's check if your answers match the correct answers:

Answer to problem #1:

The recurring element is a bicycle.

2. Answer to problem No. 2.

We present to your attention a couple online tests: attentiveness test, which can be used when applying for a job; a test for observation and a test for speed of switching attention and concentration, in the form of a picture with an image and with numbers.
Let’s take, for warm-up, a simpler one observation test:

Look carefully at the picture and try to find as many human faces as possible in it in 2 minutes. Those who have well-developed observation and attentiveness can detect more than 14 faces (or “faces”) - you need to do it in 2 minutes.

Attentiveness test when applying for a job - pictures with numbers

Similar (similar) attentiveness test take place when entering a job, for example, in Russian Railways transport, where special concentration of attention and quick switching from one object to another is required, and also where high noise immunity is required when your attention is distracted by extraneous sounds (noises) and other factors.

Instructions for the test of attentiveness, speed of attention switching and interference immunity
You are given a picture in the form of a table with red and black squares, where there are numbers and letters - red from 25 to 1, black - from 1 to 24

You need to alternate (one by one) look for numbers either in red or black squares, and most importantly, red in descending order from 25 to 1, A black in ascending order - from 1 to 24, and at the same time, take turns writing down the letters next to the number on one line.

For example: red number 25 , write a letter R, then a black number 1 , write a letter IN, further, red number 24 , write a letter AND, black number 2 , write a letter N. Thus, on the answer sheet you get a series of letters: R, V, I, N......etc.

To fully pass the test of attentiveness and speed of switching attention, you are given 5 minutes

Attention test results and you can evaluate the switching of your attention yourself - based on the number of pairs of letters you wrote correctly. The more pairs of letters you named in 5 minutes of testing, the better your attentiveness and speed of switching, and the greater the likelihood of entering a job with special requirements for concentration and rapid switching.
