Every day new mechanisms appear that make our lives more convenient and comfortable. Such devices include door closers; they independently close the doors with a smooth movement.
Installing and adjusting a Notedo door closer requires certain skills and abilities, so it is better to entrust such work to professionals.
Installation
Regardless of the design features of the internal mechanism and location on the door, all closers have a box in which the mechanism is hidden and a lever system bracket. Installation consists of fixing one part of this system to the door leaf, the other to the doorway.
For convenience, each closer has a scale map. It is used to mark the mounting holes.
The normal functioning of the closer is determined by choosing the correct installation diagram:
- When installing a closer at the entrance to a building, it is necessary to place the device on the inside. This way it will be protected from the negative effects of precipitation;
- inside buildings, the choice of pattern determines the direction in which the door opens.
Whatever installation scheme is chosen, it is important to ensure that the adjustment screws on the closer body face the door hinges.
Adjustment
After installing the closer, it is necessary to adjust its operation. The adjustment consists of two stages:
- setting the angle in the knee lever, which would provide the required closing mode. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that one of the levers is installed perpendicular to the door leaf. If the adjustable lever is in this position, the door will close without slamming, otherwise there will be a strong bang when closing;
- The door closing speed is adjusted using two screws located on the device body. One of them is responsible for closing the door from any angle up to 15°, and the second is responsible for final closing from an angle of 15°. The screws have a digital marking; its explanation is in the instructions for the device.
After adjustment, the closer is ready for use.
In order for it to serve for a long time, you should not put extra effort into closing the door. Forced braking is also contraindicated.
If it becomes necessary to keep the door in the open position for a long time, you simply need to disconnect the lever from the mechanism that sets it in motion.
